President's Message
Dear Brothers in Round Table and Friends

It is indeed a great honour and privilege to welcome you to the Round Table International website, please bookmark this website, and return many times – there are organisations out there that have the power to change, for the better, the lives of its members and those touched by the work they do – Round Table is definitely one of them.

Our website has grown in leaps and bounds over the years, mainly as a result of dedicated Tablers like yourselves. We constantly use feedback provided by our members to improve the website on a weekly basis – please feel free to send us your suggestions on how we can add to this fantastic communication tool to enhance your Tabling experience.

No one will deny that we are certainly living in interesting times, with the only constant being change. We are experiencing tough financial times all over the world, placing additional pressure on the young families to make ends meet. Despite this, or maybe because of this, Round Table continues to thrive and grow from strength to strength. Never has Round Table’s motto of Adopt, Adapt, and Improve been more relevant than right now. As modern, committed and socially responsible young men, we continue to contribute on all levels of society by Adopting ideas that have proven sound in the past, Adapting them to suit the current climate we live in and, where possible, Improving these ideas to the benefit of generations that will follow us.

As members of a 82 year young, 33000 plus strong organisation represented in 45 countries worldwide, we as Round Tablers will continue to promote fellowship and understanding amongst our peers, we will continue to assist those who are less fortunate than ourselves and we will continue to dedicate ourselves to the principles found in our constitution – on a daily basis.

Someone clever once said that if you live your life to the fullest, you only need one life, you won’t need to come back for another!

In order to live a full life, I believe one needs to try and make your life matter.

Living a life that matters doesn't happen by accident. It's not a matter of circumstance but of choice. I think that all of us who are members of Round Table have decided, at some stage in our lives, whether it is consciously or unconsciously to live a life that matters. The day that we accepted an invitation to our first Round Table function, was the first step in fulfilling this decision.
I believe with all my heart, that Round Table offers us the opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives, whether it be on a service level or on a friendship level.

Through the aims and objects of Round Table, we have the opportunity to build relationships. We have the opportunity to plough back into our communities a small share of what we are blessed with as individuals. We have the opportunity to make our lives significant by acting with integrity, compassion, courage and sacrifice to enrich, empower and encourage those around us to emulate our example.

It is only by becoming passionate about Round Table, by embracing all aspects of Tabling and by choosing to make Round Table a part of you and your family’s daily life, that you will be able to derive the real benefit of Tabling – building character.

We as members of Round Table have chosen to “Live Round Table” – and in doing so, are living lives that matter. Are you?

Yours in Table
